Chicken Soup

Chicken soup to warm the bones. Me and my daughter braved the cold to play in the snow for a bit today❄️. I am not sure the exact totals but I think we have at least 9 inches of snow today and it hasn’t stopped yet!! So a nice chicken soup was in order! I had make a whole chicken the other day and left the carcass(such a weird word) to stew in water in the crockpot on high over night to make a delicious bone broth. Combined with some spices, spinach, and celery you can’t go wrong!

🐔 Chicken Soup 🍲

2 Sprigs of rosemary

4 Sprigs of thyme

1 tsp of garlic powder

½ tsp cracked pepper

½ tsp salt( you can add more to taste)

½ tsp cayenne pepper

1 bag of spinach(in the salad mix area of the grocery store)

6 cups of chopped Chicken

4 Tbsp MCT oil

8 Tbsp Butter

1. Add 8 cups of broth to the crockpot( I used homemade bone broth)

2.Add the butter and MCT oil and use a blender/immersion blender to mix well.

3.Combine the additional ingredients to the crockpot except the spinach and cook on high for 4 hour or low for 8 hours. During the last 10 mins of cooking add the spinach.

4.You can adjust the seasonings to your tastes. I suggest starting with half of all the spices and go from there so that its tailored to you. Or you could trust me ;)
