Italian Pork Chops

I have been on a little Italian kick the last couple of days! I had pork chops that needed to be used and figured I would do something with a marinara sauce. The results had my husband licking his plate clean!! The pork chops were tender and flavorful! I paired it with some sautéed spinach and green beans! 

 

Italian Pork Chops

Makes 6 Servings

1 Chop with Sauce: 184 Calories,8.8g Fat, 5.2 g Carbs, 14.8g Protein

6 pork chops 4oz each(I had bone in but you can use boneless)

1 15oz Can Tomato Puree

2 Tbsp of Butter

1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning

2 Cloves of Garlic, minced

1/3 cup Red Wine

1 tsp Salt(less depending on your preferences)

1/2 tsp Onion Powder

1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes(optional)


In a large sauce pan on medium high heat melt butter. Once melted add minced garlic and cook until golden. Add the additional spices and stir frequently for 45 seconds. Then add the red win and tomato puree. Cover, and allow to cook for 5 mins then add the pork chops. Cover again and allow to cook for 5 mins. Flip the pork chops and allow to cook for 5 more minutes. Plate the pork chop. Divide the sauce equally into 6 servings and pour over the pork chop and sprinkle 2 Tbsps of mozzarella cheese on top . Enjoy with your favorite veggies!!
